Fırat University was Awarded First Prize at the 45th Turkish National Congress of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery
Fırat University achieved a significant milestone at the 45th Turkish National Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery Congress, held in Cyprus from October 23 to 27, 2024. The university's team was awarded first prize in the field of “Experimental Head and Neck Surgery” for their research titled “Effects of Erastin on Radio-Sensitivity in Squamous Cell Carcinoma Cell Cultures.” The research team included Dr. Derda Limoncuoğlu, Prof. Dr. Abdulvahap Akyiğit, Prof. Dr. Kazım Şahin, Research Assistant Ayşenur Elmalı, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Orkun Eroğlu, Prof. Dr. İrfan Kaygusuz, and Prof. Dr. Turgut Karlıdağ from Fırat University. Their findings are expected to contribute valuable insights into treatment processes for tongue cancer. Rector Prof. Dr. Fahrettin Göktaş congratulated the team on their accomplishment, emphasizing the university's commitment to scientific research.
