University Awarded “Outstanding Achievement in Building Energy Efficiency” Certification

Fırat University continues to make strides as an innovative leader in energy initiatives, gaining recognition across Turkey for its commitment to renewable energy. Recently, the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources honored us with the Outstanding Achievement in Building Energy Efficiency certification. In alignment with Presidential Decree 2019/18 on energy conservation in public buildings, our university implemented a series of energy efficiency measures from 2019 to 2023, achieving a 16% or greater reduction in energy usage. This success merited the Outstanding Achievement in Building Energy Efficiency award from the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources. Rector Prof. Dr. Fahrettin Göktaş emphasized the importance of optimizing national resources, stating, “Through comprehensive energy-saving initiatives implemented on our Rectorate and Engineering campuses, we achieved over 16% energy savings during 2019-2023, earning us this prestigious certification. This award reflects our commitment to sustainable and renewable energy practices, underscoring our dedication to supporting Turkey’s energy efficiency goals in meaningful ways.”
