A Conference on “Hoca Ahmet Yesevi and the Turkish World” Held at Our University

The conference on "Hodja Ahmet Yesevi and the Turkish World", jointly organized by our university and Gazi University, took place with intense participation.

Gazi University Rector Prof. Dr. Musa YILDIZ  as a speaker,  Elazig Deputy Governor İsmail ALSANCAK, Chief Public Prosecutor Ömer KARAŞIT, Rector of our University Prof. Dr. Fahrettin GÖKTAŞ, Provincial Mufti Selami AYDIN, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Bilal USTUNDAG, Prof. Dr. Soner ÖZGEN, Prof. Dr. Mehmet YILMAZ, Secretary General Prof. Dr. Sinan AKPINAR, former Rector of our University Prof. Dr. Kutbeddin DEMIRDAĞ, Dean of Gazi University Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Mustafa Necmi İLHAN, Faculty Deans, faculty members, students and guests attended the conference held organized at Atatürk Cultural Centre.

Making the opening speech of the conference, our University Rector Prof. Dr. Fahrettin GÖKTAŞ stated that they were happy to host Gazi University Rector Prof. Dr. Musa YILDIZ at our University in Elazig,  and he added, “Our esteemed Rector will tell us about the life of Hoca Ahmet Yesevi, who is very effective and prominent in the Turkish and the Islamic world. He is one of the best experts in Turkey. Our teacher previously served as the Rector of Ahmet Yesevi University. I would like to thank our teacher for coming to our university, Elazig.”

Participating in the conference as a speaker, Gazi University Rector Prof. Dr. Musa YILDIZ talked about Hoca Ahmet Yesevi, the symbol of the unity and solidarity of the Turkish world, and his place in the Turkish world.

Rector Prof. Dr. YILDIZ stated that Hodja Ahmet Yesevi is a valuable person that we should know and inform the future generations about him,  and said that he attaches special importance to the concept of "time", and he divides his 24-hours day into three parts. In the first part of his day,  he prays, in the second part he deals with science, and he earns his living in the third part.

After the speeches, our University Rector Prof. Dr. Fahrettin GÖKTAŞ  presented a plaque to Gazi University Rector Prof. Dr. Musa YILDIZ while Prof. Dr. YILDIZ gave a book including the works of Hoca Ahmet Yesevi to Rector Prof. Dr. GÖKTAŞ.
