179th Anniversary of Veterinary Medicine Education in Turkey Celebrated at Our University
The 179th Anniversary of Veterinary Medicine Education in Turkey was celebrated with a ceremony held at our University's Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
The Vice Rector of our University, Prof. Dr. Bilal ÜSTÜNDAĞ, Chairman of the Central Council of the Turkish Veterinary Medical Association Ali EROĞLU, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Prof. Dr. Mehmet ÇALICIOĞLU, Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Turan KARAHAN, Chairman of the Chamber of Veterinarians Cazım BULUT, Faculty Deans, faculty members, students and many guests attended the ceremony held at Prof. Dr. Mustafa Temizer Conference Hall
Speaking at the ceremony, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Prof. Dr. Mehmet ÇALICIOĞLU, stating that the veterinary education we adopted from Europe has improved a lot today, said, “As a faculty, we have been working since 2007 to make the Veterinary Faculty of Fırat University compatible with European standards . As a result of these efforts, we have got a long way and our faculty has been qualified to participate in EAEVE, the veterinary education accreditation of the European Union, last September. As of today, we are a faculty with both national and international accreditation.”
Our University Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Bilal ÜSTÜNDAĞ, on the other hand, said, “With the accreditation of our University's Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, it has been acknowledged that it offers education at European standards and that its providing qualifications will be compatible with those of European Union countries. This development is very important for both our Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and our University. I would like to thank all our Deans and Faculty members who contributed to this development.”
Moreover in the program, Chairman of Central Council of Turkish Veterinary Medical Association Ali EROĞLU, Chairmanof the Chamber of Veterinarians Cazım BULUT and Provincial Agriculture and Forestry Director Turan KARAHAN gave speeches stating the meaning and importance of the day.
The program ended with the presentation of plaques to the faculty members who retired from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, giving their awards to the winners of the milk run organized by the Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, and offering milk to the participants of the program.
